Job Description:
The mid-level maintenance role involves the care and maintenance of a distribution center's grounds, building facilities, and operational systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform necessary repairs on a range of distribution center equipment like forklifts, batteries, power jacks, hand jacks, and corporate vehicles, and maintain comprehensive repair histories for each piece of machinery.
- Handle electrical responsibilities like data and voice cabling, while also addressing plumbing, carpentry, and fabrication duties when required.
- Keep the distribution center's conveyor systems functioning properly by troubleshooting and diagnosing any issues that arise.
- Ensure the distribution center conveyor system is in optimal working order by performing preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintenance duties for the warehouse, office structures, and outdoor spaces consist of activities such as snow removal, salt application, lawn care, tree trimming, and garbage disposal.
- Provide support in moving, assembling, and arranging furniture and equipment within the office area of the distribution center facility.
- Implement preventative maintenance measures for batteries and ensure detailed maintenance records are available for quarterly audits.
- Implement regular preventative measures for all HVAC units, such as monthly filter maintenance for each unit.
- Support during off-peak times in case of emergencies or unfavorable weather conditions, serving as the initial point of contact for evaluating snow removal requirements.
- Uphold safety standards while performing duties and pinpoint any unsafe actions or conditions.
- Tasks outside the regular job description may be assigned.
SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES
Required:
Experienced professional with two plus years in a related role
Possesses strong capabilities in electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, and fabrication
Desired:
- History of engaging in electrical projects, welding operations, metal forming, or machine servicing
- Vocational education centers on delivering practical training and education that directly prepares individuals for employment in various trades or occupations
- Obtaining either a high school diploma or a GED as proof of educational completion
- Fluency in numerous languages, with a strong preference for Spanish
