DC Delivery Specialist

Job Description:

The real hourly salary will either meet or exceed the minimum wage mandated for the job's geographic area, and there is the potential for further compensatory rewards through yearly, quarterly, or bonuses that could be hourly-based. Additional pay may include premiums, which might vary depending on factors such as the work schedule, workplace, seasonality, or the type of tasks undertaken. Multiple premiums may be applicable based on fulfilling specific requirements.

Operate a company-owned commercial truck to facilitate secure, punctual, and top-notch deliveries as part of daily responsibilities. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and DOT regulations is essential for successful task execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and ensuring the safe operation of company vehicles.
• Abide by the company's route instructions, following the designated order of stops, route direction, and selected roads.
• Ensure that running routes are covered within a suitable duration as per specified instructions.
• Complete the required pre-trip and post-trip examinations as stated in FMCSA guidelines 396.11 and O'Reilly policy, and monitor Hours of Service (HOS) through the company's telematics system or paper logs as specified in Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.
• It is imperative to deliver all goods from the truck to the designated spot based on the freight bill, and confirming the store location sticker is crucial for precise delivery.
• Authenticate all resulting outputs and redirect them to the DC.
• It is required to check the load, all doors, and alarms for security measures before and after making each stop.
• Adhere to the specified path directed by the supervisor when necessary.
• Team members with experience may be designated as trainers. As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete. Explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure the success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
• Responsibilities beyond the specified duties may be assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

Proficiency in DOT regulations, logbook maintenance, and conducting vehicle inspections is a necessary skillset

It is crucial to have a spotless MVR and stay current with your DOT physical examination status

Passing both pre-employment and spontaneous drug and alcohol screenings is necessary

The possession of a current Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement is essential

Keeping the option open to work variable hours is important

Desired:

• The attainment of a high school diploma or GED signifies the successful completion of basic educational requirements
• Familiarity with handling electric pallet jacks
• Advanced mechanical abilities
• The ability to communicate effectively in several languages, particularly Spanish, is greatly preferred
