Job Description:

The hourly pay rate will meet or surpass the mandated minimum wage for the job's location, with the possibility of extra earnings through yearly, quarterly, or other performance-related bonuses that may vary on an hourly basis. Additional compensation such as premiums can stem from factors like schedules, location, seasonal work, or the nature of the tasks involved. Various premiums could be granted based on meeting specific criteria.

Drive a commercial truck within the company's fleet to ensure safe, prompt, and high-quality delivery services. Adhere to the organization's guidelines, protocols, and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules while carrying out responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• In charge of ensuring the secure utilization of all company vehicles and maintaining cleanliness inside the vehicles.
• Follow the company's designated route precisely, adhering to the specified sequence of stops, route direction, and choice of roads.
• Follow prescribed guidelines to complete running paths within a rational timeframe.
• Perform both pre-trip and post-trip checks following the guidelines outlined in FMCSA regulations 396.11 and O'Reilly policy, and monitor Hours of Service (HOS) using either the company's telematics system or paper logs in accordance with Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Regulations.
• Ensure that all items on the truck are transported to the correct destination as indicated on the freight bill, and verify that the store location sticker matches for accurate delivery.
• Confirm all produced yields and send them back to the distribution center.
• Ensuring the load is properly secured, as well as checking all doors and alarms before and after each stop is part of the responsibilities.
• Follow the route designated by the supervisor as necessary or requested.
• Experienced team members can be assigned the role of trainers. In this capacity, they are responsible for overseeing the DC target training program to ensure that all training sessions are held as planned and that all necessary paperwork is finalized. They are tasked with clarifying job responsibilities and tasks to assist new team members in their integration and to inform existing team members about any updates in departmental practices or procedures.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

Required:

Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, logbook procedures, and vehicle inspection requirements is essential for the job

Always ensure your motor vehicle record (MVR) is clear and maintain a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) physical status consistently

Mandatory drug and alcohol screenings are required for pre-employment and at random intervals

A valid Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement is required

It is essential to have the capacity to adjust working hours as needed

Desired:

• Attainment of a high school diploma or its equivalent, the General Educational Development (GED) credential, is a basic educational milestone
• Prior background in operating electric pallet jacks
• Advanced mechanical abilities
• Proficiency in various languages, with a particular preference for Spanish, is strongly favored
